Tomorrow during Dr Linda' Ralston's electronic marketing class,we are asked to create our first blog.  After setting up our blog websites in Weebly. My first blog assignment will be to apply the AIDA marketing model by evaluating 2 websites. Here, I'd like to take abercrombie.com for an example.

A=Attention: Traditionally, the bright color and a huge headline always catch visitor's attention. But the designer of abercrombie.com use an nontraditional dark color--black, to catch visitor's attention. All the website's background is in black and conversely, the font is in white. This design is not only novel, but also notable. Furthermore, it corresponds to the abercrombie's design in real stores, which is also in dark. Additionally, the huge headline "Abercrombie &Fitch"  in the top  of the page directly indicates that this is the website I would like to find. My attention is captured immediately upon arriving at the website.

I=Interest: Yes. The on sale logos in the top left corner of the page do arouse my interests! The logos are showing in a rolling way, saying "Take an additional 50% off" "Fall sale up to 50% off" and "Become the member and get the best of A&F", respectively. When I clicked on the "On sale Details",  a pop-up box provided me a clear on sale item list with picture and prices on it. You can also immediately act subscribing through the website.  If you click on the "Becoming member details", a video will come directly to you, showing the excellent A&F photo gallery.

D=Desire: The delivering of desire of abercrombie is presented by showing pictures of sexy model wearing A&F clothes. These model are not famous people. But their good figure and beautiful styles do arouse my desire to buy their clothes. Yes, there are options in the navigation bar to search for products, which is very notable .  I inferred that there is a video showing the excellent A&F picture gallery. But it is not enough. If it were my website, I would include a lead-in to a “hot news story” related to A&F, a recent review of A&F, or the history of A&F branding. Using multimedia -- both video and text. Visitor could not only has the vivid experience, but also get a clear and deep understanding of the brand A&F.

A*=Action: I have noted that below the on sale button and the picture, there are three individual column, which is "A&F looks", "Easy fit" and "All jeans on sale", respectively. Each column are still using a white font in a dark background, which is very obvious to find. Further, you can find the category listed below-shop man/ shop woman, which is very considerable. If you click one of the column. You will find all related items listed in front of you. These items are with pictures and prices included. If you are interested in a product. Now it's the time to take action! You can choose the appropriate size for you and the color and style you like. Usually,a product has several styles, there must be one that meet your preference!  Also, price is clearly listed below the product. Including all these, you may check out your clothes in a very convenient way. Then, you are doing shopping just by doing several clicks.

Overall, the abercrombie website does an excellent job of moving visitors from attention to action with their overall layout and use of color, graphics, and media.
